The work Palast der Moderne is a large-scale facade banner that was temporarily installed in a central square in Potsdam on an architecture built in the GDR. In contrast to the reality in which the building is to be demolished shortly, the computer collage on the banner shows the building in a renovated state. The Potsdam City Palace was located here until the late 1940s. The long-term efforts to reconstruct the historical structures on the old market were followed by the political decision to erect the baroque facades. The consequence is the dismantling of the surrounding socialist architecture. The facade banner takes up the question of how to deal with the urban traces of recent history.
