The work is a manifestation of formal memories. Through a couple of urban impressions, the installation thematizes the phenomenon of quickly built mega-projects, which are reminiscent of historic cult buildings, but whose dimensions cannot withstand the temporal or spiritual value of old places of worship. Features of buildings that were once created from cultic-religious motifs are now adapted by megaprojects, the higher meaning of which consists only of competition. The installation picks up on the solitary position of these construction projects and creates a network of architectural elements that are built up from burned-out fireworks and that creates the image of the ruins of large buildings. In contrast to the fireworks used with signs of usage, which indicate the decay of towers, the horizontally oriented base elements seem to have a growing structure. They seem to float above the ground as islands. The bird’s eye view offers an abstract structure that evokes associations with urban contexts as well as with natural principles. Like a memory that is in the process of change, this spatial structure also seems to be subject to a law that can appear in different forms.
